Massage Techniques

Swedish Massage

If it's your first massage or you don't get body work regularly, this massage is perfect for you. Soft, gliding superficial strokes help relax your body from head to toe.

Deep Tissue Therapy

Focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue in specific areas of the body to release chronic patterns of tension. Performed with knuckles, forearms, elbows, or tools. This form of massage is used to break through scar tissue, adhesions and accumulated tension to provide relief from pain and tight muscles.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is the connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web. Injury, trauma, poor posture or inflammation can create fascial restrictions and excess pressure on muscles, nerves and organs. This technique involves the application of stretches and pressure to the muscles and fascia, to relieve tension and pain by releasing and lengthening the connective tissue allowing the return of correct position, length and function of the muscle.

Neuromuscular Therapy

This technique employs a variety of soft-tissue manipulation which balances the body's central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. NMT is used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction, eliminate trigger points that cause referral pain, rebuild strength of injured tissue, assist in blood and lymphatic flow, restore proper biomechanics and flexibility.

Prenatal/Postpartum Massage

Massage during pregnancy should be performed by a certified prenatal therapist with a doctor's clearance after the first trimester. The focus of these techniques is specific to the needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through change aiding with physical fatigue among other benefits.

Orthopedic Massage

Involves therapeutic assessment, manipulation and movement of soft tissue to reduce pain and dysfunction. It is used to restore range of motion, balance out muscle groups surrounding the joints and works to prevent and rehabilitate injuries that involve muscles, tendons and ligaments.
